Secondary Recovery

Knowing the initial field stress state is not only desirable during primary recovery but is invaluable in the optimal placement of injection wells for water-flood and enhanced hydrocarbon recovery in general.

This is especially important in planning a water-flood of fields with thinner and variably fractured/permeable reservoirs such as the dark blue unit shown opposite. Most injectors could be placed sub-parallel with ShD for maximum sweep via SHD but prior faults can absorb disproportionate amounts of fluid.

4DGeoStress is the only software that can generate initial field, continuous stress data in 3D and identify potential flow barriers.
